What is Bosch ConnectedWorld?

The event will convene leaders in business and technology management in the Internet of Things (IoT) space, who will share best practices and case studies around connected products, services and solutions.

Bosch ConnectedWorld’s purpose is to provide the inspiration, education, and connections you need to thrive in IoT. This February, we will host more than 140 speakers on four stages presenting IoT trends and implementations in front of more than 3,500 conference and hackathon participants.

Through inspiring keynotes, three session tracks, a huge IoT exhibition, a Meet Up stage, a hackathon, and a lot networking opportunities, you will learn how the Bosch ConnectedWorld experience, and especially IoT, is truly remarkable.

Where is Bosch ConnectedWorld 2018 in Berlin taking place?

What is the dress code for this event?

For Bosch ConnectedWorld Business attire is recommended. Attending Bosch ConnectedExperience, leisure is recommended.

What is the networking party?

The networking party will take place on Wednesday, Feb 21 at 6:30pm. All participants of Bosch ConnectedWorld and Bosch ConnectedExperience, including speakers and exhibitors, will be in attendance to network and continue discussions sparked during the event over drinks and buffet.

Will food be provided?

Snacks, coffee, and beverages will be available throughout the event. Hot lunch will be provided on each conference day. Drinks and buffet will be served at the networking party.

Will there be a cloak room at the venue?

Yes, the cloak room will be located at the entrance of the STATION-Berlin. The coat check is available Wednesday, February 21, 2018, 8 am – 1 am and Tuesday, February 22, 8 am – 7 pm. Items cannot be left overnight.

How many items can I check?

Each attendee can check one coat and one bag/suitcase.

How do I get to the STATION-Berlin?

The STATION-Berlin is easily accessible from just about anywhere. Potsdamer Platz and the city center are in walking distance. Parking is possible at Parkhaus Gleisdreieck, Schöneberger Ufer 5, 10963 Berlin. Fees for short-term parking are about EUR 1 per hour and EUR 10 per day. However, there is only a limited number of parking spaces, so we advise you to use public transport. Gleisdreieck is the next station near to the venue – just 2 minutes away.

Why should I attend?

At Bosch ConnectedWorld, participants will explore real-world Internet of Things (IoT) implementations presented by well-respected industry leaders and global IoT players. As one of the few IoT events hosted by an active provider and user of IoT solutions, Bosch has leveraged its industry expertise and developed a program featuring disruptive IoT initiatives and business models, enabling technologies and architectures to drive digital excellence.

What is the price of admission?

Bosch ConnectedWorld Ticket:
Attending the entire conference stream, the exhibition, and the networking party.
Early Bird Rate (Sep 1 – Nov 15, 2017): 750 EUR + VAT
Regular Rate (Nov 16, 2017 – Jan 15, 2018): 1,000 EUR + VAT
Late Rate (from Jan 16, 2018): 1,500 EUR + VAT

Bosch ConnectedExperience Ticket:
Creating an IoT prototype with other developers at the hackathon.
By application: 0 EUR (applicable to students, start-ups, IoT enthusiast)
Corporate Rate: 300 EUR +VAT

What is included in the Bosch ConnectedWorld Ticket?

The ticket fee will include one place at the two-day conference, keynote sessions, all other topic session on stage A, stage B and stage C, the IoT exhibition, refreshments, lunches and the participation in the networking party. This ticket excludes the access to the parallel hold hackathon.

What is included in the Bosch ConnectedExperience Ticket?

The fee will include one place at the hackathon, the IoT exhibition, refreshments, lunches and the participation in the networking party. This ticket excludes the keynotes, and the topic sessions hold on stage A, stage B and stage C.

Are group discounts offered?

There are no group discounts available.

How do I pay for my registration?

Payment should be made upon completion of your registration. You will be directed to a secure PayOne link where credit card payment (AMEX, VISA, Mastercard) is accepted. Payment on invoice is not possible.

What is the cancellation policy?

All attendee cancellations must be submitted via email to ticketing@bcw-bosch-si.com. Cancellation charges shall be applicable as following:

Written notice received by Percentage of fee to be charged (incl. VAT) Amount refundable (incl. VAT)
Until January 19, 2018 25% 75%
From January 20, 2018 100% 0 EUR

Please note that the same policy applies to accidental and/or duplicate registrations. The operating company and the event organizer do not accept responsibility for the non-arrival of participants. No refund is made for no-shows (not showing up at conference).

If you are unable to attend the event and wish to substitute another attendee in your place, you must contact ticketing@bcw-bosch-si.com to arrange the replacement before 5pm February 20, 2018. If proper notification is not provided within this deadline, the organizer reserves the right to refuse the substitution. No refunds will be made for cancellations.

Can I transfer my ticket to another attendee?

When do I receive my credentials for the event?

You will receive a confirmation email upon completing your registration.

When do I receive my name badge for the event?

One month before the event all attendees will receive a print-at-home ticket by email. This print-at-home ticket serves as your name badge during the event. If you participate in Bosch ConnectedWorld 2018 or Bosch ConnectedExperience 2018, please print out your ticket in advance. We will provide your name badge holder and lanyard at the registration counter on-site.

Hackathon
What is the Bosch ConnectedExperience?

Bosch ConnectedExperience is an extraordinary hackathon which takes place during the Bosch ConnectedWorld – the Internet of Things conference and exhibition in the STATION-Berlin. By learning, sharing, making, and hacking, developers can bring their IoT ideas and products to life by working with Bosch and Bosch eco-system partners’ hardware and software products. Over 700 software and hardware developers, product designers, and product managers from Bosch customers, IoT start-ups, and independents will be sharing their approaches and best practices for IoT-enabled products, apps, and services.

When and where does the Bosch ConnectedExperience 2018 take place?

Bosch ConnectedExperience 2018 takes place at the STATION in Berlin from Tuesday, February 20 to Thursday, February 22, 2018. The hackathon will start the evening before the conference and exhibition of Bosch ConnectedWorld 2018 due to the pre-briefing, team building and idea generation.

What hack challenges are to be expected at Bosch ConnectedExperience 2018?

Who is the hackathon for?
  • New coders and experienced coders
  • People developing solutions or wanting to start
  • UX designers, product designers, and idea generators
What skills are required for the hack challenges?

Programming skills are not obligate, but recommended. If you are passionate about shaping the IoT with Bosch, their ecosystem and with their respective IoT sensor, software, and hardware stack, you should join our hackathon of Bosch ConnectedExperience 2018. You have to be at least 18 years old at the time of the event.

How do I find team members?

You simply find them at the event. Anyone who has an idea can pitch it to the crowd. Moreover, sponsors and partners will also provide their APIs and some challenges that they are facing. You team up with people around you to work on any idea you like!

Can I come to work on an already existing idea or project?

You have to come with an idea that you have not worked on before. If you use any code written specifically for this idea in advance, or work on a new project that is somehow related to an already existing company, you might be asked to leave the event. We cannot allow participants or guests with a commercial interest in the event itself or other participants.

What if I don’t have an idea or a team?

You can simply find the team at the event and work out an idea. Also, anyone who has an idea can pitch it to the crowd. Moreover, sponsors and partners will also provide their APIs and some challenges that they are facing. You team up with people to work on any idea you like!

What do I need to take with me?

Please bring your own laptop and make sure you have admin rights. Prior to the event you will receive more detailed information about the resources, software, and tools available during the hack challenge.

What about Intellectual Property? Do I own my code?

Definitely! You submit the code for the pure purpose of evaluation and awarding, you do not transfer any rights of your work.
